I do not know about you but I always seem to accumulate leftover strips of paper, especially gorgeous double-sided paper that I cannot seem to throw that little bit out. It is too pretty and 'might come in handy one day'.
Here is a way to actually use them up, rather than continuing to just collect them.
I have cut my selected colour for a card base to an A5 size, I use cardstock that is 10.5cm x 29cm. My coloured matt is merely 5mm smaller in both length and width to give a great background colour, 10cm x 14cm.
I have then cut another matt piece 5mm small than this, (in this case Basic White card), 9.5cm x 13.5cm. This piece is the base for adhering the coloured strips.
All of my coloured strips vary in widths. I have then sliced them at random on an angle. Adhere to the matt piece. Trim the edges to the card matt.
Adhere all layers to the card base. Stamp a greeting - also mounting this on a coordinating matt piece. I have attached this to the card front using Dimensional tape.
For this card I have used a retired double-sided paper set called Sunshine and Rainbows - which was a bonus in the last Sale-a-bration set. I just love it and I am very sad it is no longer available. You could use any dsp or even coordinating plain cardstock. Even think embossed pieces. It could be so much fun.
