CASEing The Catty 142 - Love and Sympathy

Welcome to the CASEing The Catty Sunday Blog Hop for this week which is CASEing from the Love and Sympathy section of the catalogue, pages 86 - 101. I am honoured to be a guest designer this week.

I decided to use the image and colours from a card on page 86 and create my own version.

Swapping out the stamp set to use the very cute and versatile SU hostess set In The City. This set comes with so many images and a real variety of words that can suit so many occasions.

To make this card I used a base of Pear Pizzazz card stock which I embossed. I stamped my selected images onto Whisper White card and coloured them in with inks. As I did not have any coordinating patterned paper on hand I made my own with Crushed Curry ink - just randomly adding splotches of colour with the now retired (and favourite) stamp set Gorgeous Grunge. I also made my own version of a ribbon using Pear Pizzazz card stock which I worked between my fingers to break the fibres, therefore softening the card stock. I then finished this with Wink of Stella.

To finish the card off I used a few accents to add a bit of dimension to a card with  Dimensionals Wink of Stella, Fine Tip Glue and a gold Faceted Gem. Personally I like all of my cards to 'pop' off the page - I find this adds to the texture and individualisation of a hand crafted card.

I have included some smaller pictures here to show the extra detail on my made patterned paper and home made ribbon. As well as the 3D feature items like the plane that are done using the fine tip glue. I used this on the trees and cars as well.

I hope you like my case on the card featured in the catalogue and continue to enjoy your journey through the Blog Hop. Next up is the very talented Angela Meiritz-Reid. Please join in the challenge and post your photos to the Facebook page.
